ABOUT THE TOUR
Lake Como is a firm favourite with British holidaymakers and one of Italy’s most popular destinations. Our excursion programme highlights the magnificent scenery, full of colours and contrasts.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to France for an overnight stay.
Day 2:
We travel south to Italy and arrive early evening on the shores of Lake Como.

Day 3: Bergamo
Bergamo can be found in Lombardy, situated in the foothills of the Alps and with a wonderful atmosphere that combines the city’s heritage with its modern attitude. There’s so much to do here - Bergamo boasts two centres, the Upper City (Citta alta) and the Lower City (Citta bassa).
In the Upper City you can uncover Bergamo’s history, with the 14th-century Citadel, Bergamo Cathedral and numerous museums. In the Lower City, discover Bergamo’s cosmopolitan heart. Here, there’s an art gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art, as well as an excellent shopping district ideal for buying souvenirs and gifts.

Day 4: Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore is another of the famous Italian lakes and is perfect for those who simply cannot get enough of this beautiful scenery. The lake is known for being the second largest of all the lakes in Italy, and is famous for its superb climate which allows a wide assortment of flora to grow.
We will visit Lake Maggiore during our holiday and will be able to relax by the lakeshore for an entire day.

Day 5: St. Moritz and Bernina Regional Railway
Join our optional excursion and experience a once in a lifetime journey on the Bernina Regional Railway, travelling from St Moritz and taking in breath-taking mountain scenery.
Sit back and relax as we make our way over peaks and passes, soaking in the mesmerising views.

Day 6: Lake Como Cruise
Lake Como is thought of as one of the Italian Lakes’ most beautiful locations. The third largest lake in Italy, Lake Como is surrounded by opulent villas and alpine mountains, as well as having a relaxing atmosphere that’s impossible to resist.
We will take an optional lake cruise to explore this magical location and to take in the wonderful scenery on all sides. Sit back and allow yourself to be guided around this enchanting lake, all the while marvelling at the dramatic scenery.

Day 7: Lugano
Lugano is one of the most popular lakeside cities in Switzerland. Named after the lake it sits on the banks of, Lugano is famous for its bustling atmosphere, amazing attractions and, of course, stunning location.
In Lugano, you will find narrow cobblestone streets lined with boutiques and excellent little shops, where you can purchase souvenirs and mementos of your time here. You will also be able to take advantage of the many pavement cafes with superb views out over the lake, so you can admire the scenery here.

Day 8:
Depart and travel back to France for an overnight stay.

Return home.

Single Room Supplement from £69.00 (9 days).
The 3-star Hotel Britannia Excelsior in Cadenabbia includes 'Silver' All-Inclusive package for all guests. Enjoying a splendid lakeside setting with superb views across the lake to Bellagio, the hotel has a restaurant featuring buffet meals, a large lounge area, bar, terrace and lifts. Across the road, lies its own lakeside lido area with outdoor pool (open subject to season) and bar, where a limited selection of drinks are available. In addition, the Britannia Excelsior has an excellent floating infinity pool.
This large and lively hotel is managed and owned by the Whieldon family, who are on hand to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The hotel also includes a *free daily transfer by boat to the popular resort of Bellagio on the opposite side of the lake (June to September and subject to weather conditions). Room upgrades are available. Upgrades to 'Gold' or 'Platinum' all-inclusive are available - call for details.
* Please note due to the reduced 2021 season and current COVID restrictions, the free boat shuttle service between the hotel and Bellagio will not be operating for 2021 departures.
