ABOUT THE TOUR
Staying in the heart of Buxton, an ancient spa town and today considered the gateway to the Peak District, we explore this beautiful region. The highlight of the trip is a visit to Chatsworth House, known as the ‘Palace of the Peaks’.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to our hotel in the heart of Buxton for four nights.

Day 2: Bakewell and Chatsworth House
This morning we visit Bakewell, best known for delicious Bakewell Pudding which is thought to have been created by accident in the 19th century.
Later, we visit Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and one of the country’s grandest stately homes. Marvel at the magnificent art collection, impressive architecture and extensive gardens.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Castleton and Hathersage
Enjoy free time in beautiful Buxton, and admire the elegance of the Edwardian Opera House and the pretty Pavilion Gardens.
Perhaps you’d rather venture further afield, with our optional excursion to Castleton and Hathersage.

Day 4: Peak District
Today we take a scenic drive through the glorious Peak District, calling at Matlock Bath, set in the beautiful gorge of the River Derwent, before looping back to charming village called Eyam (pronounced 'Eem'). It is known as the 'Plague Village' as it has a unique story associated with the Black Death in 1665, which you can learn about at the museum in the town. Its dark history aside, it is a very pretty village with a craft centre, sculpture garden and market hall.

Return home.
