Christmas is a truly special time of year, whether you want to spend it with friends and family, relax in your own company, or meet new people and new friends. Join us for a mulled wine on arrival, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, cream tea each day, and a small gift! Celebrate this magical time of year in Weymouth, one of Britain’s oldest resorts, with a historic harbour, old pubs and cottages, and plenty of shops and attractions.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach, then on to Weymouth and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie on arrival to get us into the Christmas spirit.

Day 2: Christmas Eve in Dorchester
Today we visit Dorchester, the county town of Dorset and a historic market town. Fans of the acclaimed poet and writer Thomas Hardy will be aware of the town’s connection, with is featuring as ‘Casterbridge’ in many of his works, and with Hardy’s birthplace located on the outskirts of Dorchester in Higher Bockhampton. Shoppers may prefer to browse the central pedestrianised area with its arcades of shops, whilst history-lovers may prefer a visit to the Dorset County Museum or the Keep Military Museum.

Day 3: Christmas Day at leisure or Bridport and West Bay
Merry Christmas! Relax in Weymouth, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, or join our optional excursion to bustling Bridport and West Bay, situated on the Jurassic Coast and recently featured in the popular television drama Broadchurch

Day 4: Boxing Day in Isle of Purbeck and Swanage
This morning we take a jaunt to the Isle of Purbeck, passing through quaint Corfe Castle to reach seaside Swanage. Here there’s a lovely, sandy beach and lots of attractions, such as the Swanage Museum which tells the story of the area from the Jurassic period to WWII. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.

Day 5:
We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.

Formerly a Bay Hotel, The Royal Hotel commands an unrivalled position right on Weymouth’s seafront with the town’s beach just across the promenade and a wealth of shops, boutique cafes and bars and quality restaurants just a short walk away. Weymouth has a number of great attractions with Nothe Fort an easy walk from the hotel which has various exhibitions throughout the year. The hotel’s restaurant and bar offer great views of the promenade and are a great place for people watching.
