Join us for a mulled wine and mince pie on arrival, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, festive cream tea each day, and a small gift from Santa! 5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1:

    Local departure by coach, then on to Arrochar and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie on arrival to get us into the Christmas spirit.

  • Day 2: Christmas Eve in Glasgow

    Today we visit Glasgow, famous for its cosmopolitan culture and buzzing atmosphere. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the city however you like, perhaps calling at Clydesdale Distillery for a tour, visiting the cathedral to marvel at the impressive gothic architecture, or visiting one of the many museums and galleries here. Of course there are also many shops, pubs, and restaurants as well as fantastic cultural venues to explore.

  • Day 3: Christmas Day at leisure

    Merry Christmas! Relax in Arrochar, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, and enjoy the festive atmosphere in the hotel with your fellow travellers.

  • Day 4: Boxing Day in Inveraray

    This morning we visit Inveraray on the western shore of Loch Fyne. Established in 1745 by the 3rd Duke of Argyll, head of Clan Campbell, the town has a long history and many fine Georgian buildings. There is a neoclassical church, and the Jail is now an award-winning museum that tells of the lives of prisoners throughout the centuries. Just outside of the town is Inveraray Castle which remains the family home of the Dukes of Argyll to this day and is set in extensive grounds. The town is also home to a Woolen Mill, selling many famous brands and Scottish produce such as knitwear, whisky and traditional food. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.

  • Day 5:

    We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.

    Stay in the town of Arrochar at the end of Loch Long with stunning views of mountains rolling into the water. Loch Long is the quintessential Scottish scene, mountains rise high out of the water and ruined castles line the banks of the deep blue water. The Arrochar Alps rise high out of the town and are particularly popular with hill-walkers, for an easy walk take a stroll out to the Falls of Falloch which are less than 20 minutes’ drive away from the hotel. Formerly a Bay Hotel, The Claymore Hotel is set in the ancestral seat of Clan McFarlane and has a relaxing bar and lounge area with plenty of space to relax and enjoy a drink after a day exploring the Trossachs. In the hotel’s restaurant, you can enjoy a fantastic breakfast and evening meals.
