Claymore Hotel, Arrochar - Festive Self-Drive

The Claymore is a classical Scottish manor house in the centre of Arrochar. Originally home to the McFarlane Clan, the hotel now offers friendly Scottish hospitality with comfortable bedrooms, two restaurants serving traditional cuisine, welcoming bars and a programme of live entertainment. The hotel is the ideal base for a relaxing short break, walking holiday and for sightseeing the natural beauty spots of Scotland. 5 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Travel to Your Hotel

    Make your own way to your hotel, where you will enjoy a comfortable four-night stay. Settle into the hotel with a mulled wine to get you into the Christmas spirit.

    Included meals: Dinner

  • Days 2 to 4: Loch Lomond

    Spend three days independently exploring the area in and around Loch Long.

    Visit the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park located in the Highlands area of Southern Scotland – this is an outdoor paradise for explorers! Breaks to this area will unite you with a glorious array of mountains within open countryside, featuring various walking and cycling trails.

    Each afternoon there will be a cream tea at the hotel, and on Christmas Day there will be a traditional Christmas Lunch.

    Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 5: Return Home

    After breakfast, and full of festive cheer, check out of your hotel and make your own way home.

  • Claymore Hotel

    Stay in the town of Arrochar at the end of Loch Long with stunning views of mountains rolling into the water. Loch Long is the quintessential Scottish scene, mountains rise high out of the water and ruined castles line the banks of the deep blue water. The Arrochar Alps rise high out of the town and are particularly popular with hill-walkers, for an easy walk take a stroll out to the Falls of Falloch which are less than 20 minutes’ drive away from the hotel. Formerly a Bay Hotel, The Claymore Hotel is set in the ancestral seat of Clan McFarlane and has a relaxing bar and lounge area with plenty of space to relax and enjoy a drink after a day exploring the Trossachs. In the hotel’s restaurant, you can enjoy a fantastic breakfast and evening meals.
