ABOUT THE TOUR
Eastbourne remains one of the UK’s favourite resorts. With its Victorian buildings, sandy beaches, endless cafés, souvenir shops and pretty gardens, Eastbourne has something for everyone. This delightful tour also includes a visit to Brighton and Beachy Head, a ride on the nostalgic Bluebell Railway, and an optional excursion to explore more of the Sussex coast and 1066 Country.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to our hotel for four nights.

Day 2: Brighton and Beachy Head
Included excursion to Brighton, premier resort of the Sussex coast. Sometimes known as London-by-the-Sea, Brighton has been a popular resort since the days of the Prince Regent, who built the resort’s fairy tale Royal Pavilion.
See Regency style architecture, best represented by the Royal Pavilion. If you enjoy shopping, then Brighton is a paradise. You can choose from modern malls, Victorian streets lined with little shops, and the fashionable Lanes, where you can browse among antique shops in a village-like area.
Later, we include a scenic drive along the Sussex Heritage Coast, with a photo stop at Beachy Head to see the spectacular Seven Sisters chalk cliffs.

Day 3: Bluebell Railway
Enjoy a highlight of our tour as we board the famous Bluebell Railway through the delightful Sussex countryside.This heritage line runs between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead, and was one of the first preserved standard gauge steam-operated passenger railway in the country to operate a public service. The first train ran in 1960 and the experience will take you back to a bygone era.

Day 4: Day at leisure or 1066 Country - Rye, Battle and Hastings
Day at leisure or join our optional excursion as we explore historic 1066 Country. We head first to Cinque Port of Rye, with its cobbled streets and charming alleyways, lined with medieval buildings.
Our excursion continues with a visit to the abbey town of Battle, scene of William the Conqueror's victory over Harold.
We end the day in the rejuvenated coastal town of Hastings.

You will stay for four nights at the 3-star York House Hotel in Eastbourne.

The hotel enjoys a seafront location, only 400 metres from the pier. Many rooms have sea views and all public areas face the beachfront. An indoor heated swimming pool and a unique open-air sun verandah with comfortable and contemporary lounges makes this the perfect get-away location.
