Eastbourne provides us with the perfect base from which to explore the delights of the South Coast including historic Michelham Priory. We also visit medieval Lewes and enjoy a tasting at Carr Taylor Wines.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Eastbourne and our hotel for four nights.

Day 2: Michelham Priory & Lewes
Included excursion to Michelham Priory where the country's largest medieval water-filled moat surrounds a site steeped in history. Dating back to 1229, learn the fascinating stories of this wonderful location from the dissolution of the monasteries through to a place of refuge for evacuees from London. We round off the day with a visit to medieval Lewes.

Day 3: Day at leisure or optional Brighton
Relax at leisure in seaside Eastbourne or perhaps join our optional excursion to vibrant Brighton. Bursting with attractions from the extravagant Pavilion and interesting museums to the beautiful beach and superb shopping in the historic Lanes, there is so much to see and do here!

Day 4: Hastings and Carr Taylor Wines
We travel along the coast to Hastings. One of the old medieval Cinque Ports, the remains of William the Conqueror's first English castle still stand here today and there is an abundance of history to be discovered in the meandering alleyways of the Old Town. We continue to call at Carr Taylor Wines where we enjoy a taste of the delightful produce as well as refreshments with local cakes to round off the day!
