ABOUT THE TOUR
The Great Western Hotel is a striking building dating back to the 19th century, and is ideally placed on Oban’s esplanade, making the perfect base for exploring. You can enjoy pleasant strolls down to the harbour, as well as panoramic views from the large windows in the bar and lounge areas. TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1: Travel to Your Hotel
Make your own way to your hotel, where you will enjoy a comfortable four-night stay. Settle into the hotel with a mulled wine to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Days 2 to 4: Oban
Spend three days independently exploring the area in and around Oban.
Surrounded by miles of coastline, Oban town and port features important historical intrigue with no less than five castles nearby, three of which were the seat of the Clan MacDougall of Lorne. From Oban you can set sail and take a tour of the islands of Mull, Iona and Staffa.
Highlights include the Oban War & Peace Museum, partially-ruined Dunstaffnage Castle, and Oban Distillery, where you can explore the history of whisky and learn exactly how it’s made.
Each afternoon there will be a cream tea at the hotel, and on Christmas Day there will be a traditional Christmas Lunch.

Day 5: Return Home
After breakfast, and full of festive cheer, check out of your hotel and make your own way home.
