ABOUT THE TOUR
Based in quaint Chianciano in Tuscany, we’ll discover the highlights of one of the most attractive areas of Italy. From Rome, the Eternal City, to Renaissance Florence with it’s impressive Duomo, uncover some of Italy's most famous destinations. We'll also have the chance to visit the beautiful town of Assisi and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Siena's historical centre as well as dipping our toes into the picturesque Lake Trasimeno. This is one not to be missed.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then travel by Express Coach overnight towards Italy.
Day 2:
Travel across to Switzerland, through the Lombardy Plain, to Tuscany and the spa-town of Chianciano.

Day 3: Hidden Tuscany
Tuscany is filled with incredible sights, and we’ll delve into the region’s hidden delights today with an optional excursion to the town of Cortona.
This beautiful Tuscan town has something for everyone, with its wonderful heritage, stunning medieval architecture and amazing atmosphere. Wander along the narrow streets, admire the pretty plazas and town squares, and why not visit some of the town’s many attractions?Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 4: Rome
Today, we enjoy a full day to explore the endless sights of this romantic city.
Known as the 'Eternal City' of the Roman Empire, Rome is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its historical centre. Rome has an immensely rich heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of the world’s most-visited capitals.
Packed with historical attractions and with something for absolutely everyone, we are guaranteed to enjoy our time in this famous city.
We will be able to enjoy free time to explore to our heart’s content, so we can see some of the city’s best-known attractions.
Take the time to discover St Peter’s Square, the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel or Trevi Fountain, the choice is yours.

Day 5: Assisi and Lake Trasimeno
Today's optional excursion will see us exploring the exquisite town of Assisi, famous for being the birthplace of St. Francis. This town boasts many fascinating sights, and we’ll get to explore many of them during our time here.
Spend time discovering the Franciscan structures of Assisi, which have been designated as a UNESCO site since 2000. These include the stunning Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, as well as the Church of San Pietro, the Santa Maria Maggiore, and Assisi Cathedral.
Assisi also has two medieval castles to admire and a Roman amphitheatre. The Temple of Minerva is another must-see - this ancient Roman building has been beautifully preserved.After our time in Assisi, we will enjoy a leisurely drive to the magnificent Lake Trasimeno, allowing us to take in the astounding scenery of this part of Italy.

Day 6: Florence
Join our full-day excursion to Florence, capital of Tuscany.
Florence is a wonderful city, with amazing architecture and a huge number of historical sights. While at leisure, you can choose to see such sights as the Piazza della Signoria where the Fountain of Neptune is located, as well as a replica of Michelangelo’s David statue - the original is housed within the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence.
There’s also the gothic Florence Cathedral, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Archeological Museum, the Museum of the History of Science, and many other sights.

Day 7: Siena
Today we include an excursion to charming Siena.
With the city’s historical centre a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Siena is one of Italy’s most-visited tourist attractions and is famous for its beautiful attractions. We’ll explore its wonderful heritage and culture, and will get the chance to visit a number of its most popular sights at leisure.

After breakfast, we begin our journey north and travel through the night.

Return home.
Single Room Supplement from £105.00 (9 days).
You will stay for six nights at the Hotel Mizar in Chianciano. Situated in the heart of this spa town, the hotel is only a few metres from Piazza Italia. The roof terrace offers panoramic views of the town and there's also an outdoor swimming pool to enjoy.
