Enjoy the Tyrolean hospitality and relax on our included excursions, taking in the surrounding scenery. Discover quaint villages as we sit back and take in the views on our exciting railway experiences.
TOUR INCLUDES
Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Belgium for an overnight stay.
Day 2:
Today we continue through Germany and southwards into the Austrian Tyrol, reaching Uderns in time for dinner.

Day 3: Lake Achen, the Achensee Cog Railway and Rattenberg
After a morning at leisure, we travel down the Inn Valley to Jenbach and join the original Achenseebahn cog railway, which dates back to 1889. These are some of the oldest steam engines in the world still to be used for public transport.
The train winds its way up above the Inn Valley to the shores of the largest alpine lake in Tyrol, Lake Achen. Perhaps take a boat cruise, or enjoy a stroll by the lake.
En route back to our hotel, we make a stop at Rattenberg, the oldest and smallest town in Tyrol, known today as the Tyrolean home of glass and crystal. Visit one of the showrooms and see the artisans at work.

Day 4: Ziller Valley Train and Show Cheese Dairy
Ride on this nostalgic train from Fügen to Mayrhofen, and enjoy a little schnapps and some folk music along the way. Take in the views of the majestic mountains as your train chugs along the Ziller Valley.
Before going back to our hotel, we make a stop in Fügen and visit the Show Cheese Dairy there. See how the Austrian Cheese is produced and maybe you'll also have the chance to taste some of it!

Day 5: Salzburg
The hills are alive with the sound of music. Visit Salzburg, the Mozart capital of the world and home of the ever-popular movie “The Sound of Music”.
The guided walking tour of this magical city will show you some of the many highlights. Admire the baroque splendour of the churches and cathedral, the might of the Hohensalzburg fortress, and also the quaint Getriedegasse, which with its wrought iron signs that overhang the doors, is one of the most beautiful shopping streets of Austria.
We include a typical lunch in Salzburg, and there will be free time in the city for shopping and sightseeing before we return to our hotel.

Day 6: The Pinzgauer Narrow Gauge Railway
We head to Mittersill where we board the Pinzgau train, which takes us to the town of Krimml.
For more than 100 years, this narrow gauge railway has been winding along the picturesque Salzach Valley to the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Krimml Waterfalls. These falls are the highest in Europe and the 5th highest in the world. Walk down to the base of the falls or follow the trail up the side for a close-up experience of this breathtaking spectacle.
This is a must for photographers and nature lovers. Don’t forget your brolly, as even on the sunniest days there can be quite a lot of spray!

Day 8:
We leave Uderns and Austria behind and make our way back towards Belgium for our final overnight stay.

Return home.
