New Year in Aachen & Valkenburg

5 Day Itinerary

• Dec 29:

  Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then travel to Aachen where we’ll stay for the next four nights.

• Dec 30: Valkenburg

  We call at the ‘Dreilandenpunkt’ the meeting point of the three countries, Germany, Belgium and Holland, before going on to visit the quaint Dutch town of Valkenburg.

  Top attractions here include the underground mines and caverns, with drawings dating back to Roman times, and Valkenburg Castle, which offers wonderful views of the surrounding landscapes.

• New Year’s Eve: Maastricht

  Today we visit the charming university city of Maastricht, on the southern tip of the Netherlands. Take in the beautiful medieval architecture and enjoy a stroll through the charming streets of the cobbled old town, with its historic basilica and the Gothic-style church Sint Janskerk.

  On the banks of the Maas River, bisecting the city, you can also see the futuristic-looking Bonnefanten art museum.

  Tonight, we enjoy a gala 7-course dinner with a glass of champagne to celebrate the New Year.

  Sit back and relax as we head through the scenic Eiffel region of Germany on our way to visit the charming, historic little town of Monschau. Enjoy a stroll along the winding alleys and take in the beautiful half-timbered houses.
