  Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to Bodelywddan Castle in north Wales for a four-night stay.

• Day 2: Llandudno

  Today we’ll head to the coast to the traditional Victorian resort of Llandudno, which retains much of its 19th-century grandeur.

  With pier, promenade, and spectacular sweeping views across the bay, and with the majestic Great Orme mountain as a backdrop, Llandudno combines everything you want from a seaside town with the rugged beauty and nature that north Wales is famous for.

• Day 3: Day at leisure or Chester
