Ship & Castle Hotel, St. Mawes - Self-Drive

The quaint fishing village of St. Mawes is idyllically located on the tip of the Roseland Peninsula. The Ship & Castle Hotel occupies an unbeatable location overlooking the village’s picture-postcard harbour, and also boasts a central location so you’ll be well-placed for exploring the myriad of local attractions, including St. Mawes Castle and Carne Beach. The fascinating Eden Project is also within easy reach. After a day discovering all that and more, The Ship & Castle, designed and decorated in a charming nautical theme, provides the ideal retreat. Take in views of the picturesque harbour and watch the lights dance on the water – truly breathtaking.

4 Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Travel to Your Hotel

    Make your own way to your hotel, where you will enjoy a comfortable three-night stay.

    Car Parking: There are no car parking facilities on site, however there is public paid car parking within a short distance of the hotel.

    Included meals: Dinner

  • Days 2 & 3: St. Mawes

    Spend two days independently exploring the area in and around St. Mawes.

    A picture-postcard fishing town, tumbling down the tip of Cornwall’s Roseland Peninsula. With its higgledy-piggledy whitewashed houses, winding lanes and independent shops and pubs, St. Mawes is the perfect place for relaxing, and the ideal base for exploring the many heritage sites and attractions which dot the region.

    Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner

  • Day 4: Return Home

    After breakfast, check out of your hotel and make your own way home.

Selected rooms at the hotel are dog-friendly. There is a maximum of 2 dogs per room at a charge of £12 per night, and this should be added to your booking before travel. 
Dogs are not permitted to join you in the restaurant, bar or public areas of the hotel. 
If you have an allergy to dogs, please do not worry as many of the hotel bedrooms are dog-free, but do advise us at the time of booking if you have a severe allergy.

    Formerly a Coast & Country hotel, The Ship & Castle occupies an enviable position right on the harbour of the sleepy Cornish coastal village of St. Mawes with views of Carrick Roads and Percuill River. At the other side of the village is St Mawes Castle which is at the perfect spot for views over the coast to Pendennis Castle in Falmouth. St. Mawes is perfectly located to explore the Roseland Peninsula which has a number of beautiful walking trails along the coast. Inside the hotel is the perfect place to relax, with fantastic views so why not grab a bottle of wine in the lounge and look out at the boats on the harbour as the sunsets after a busy day?
