9 Day Itinerary

• Day 1:

  Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to our overnight hotel in the Paris area.

• Day 2:

  In the morning, we enjoy breakfast and then continue our journey from France to Roses, where we stay for the next six nights

• Day 3: Roses Express

  This morning is at leisure for you to begin your own exploration of the town. Roses is a modern town with excellent shopping, restaurants and bars. Located on the northern edge of the Costa Brava, it is home to some of the most attractive but least crowded beaches in the area.

  This afternoon we board the charming Roses Express (little town train), with its iconic colourful tractor-style engine, and experience the beautiful Cap de Creus Nature Park, where we can admire the impressive sea views.

• Day 4: Little Yellow Train of the Pyrenees

  Our excursion begins as we make our way to Thuir in Southern France, where we visit a local vineyard. Here, sample some of the excellent wines this town is famous for with a wine tasting experience before we continue our journey to board the Little Yellow Train.

  So-called for its appearance, the Little Yellow Train travels from Villefranche de Conflent to stop at Europe’s highest station - Bolquere - and then continues through the beautiful plateau of the Cerdagne to La Tour du Carol. Relax on-board and enjoy the beautiful views as we travel.

• Day 5: Núria Valley Railway of the Pyrenees

  Today we enjoy an included guided excursion on the Rack Railway up to the Sanctuary of Núria.

  Located in the Eastern Pyrenees, the mountain resort of Vall de Núria sits high above the Ribes Valley. Breathtaking scenery awaits as we climb more than 100 metres over the 12-kilometre journey.

• Day 6: Train from Rivesaltes to Axat

  We enjoy a fantastic train ride today, travelling from Rivesaltes to Axat. We board the train in Rivesaltes after a scenic drive to this picturesque town and then enjoy a journey along a hundred-year-old railway line.

  Take in a great many landscapes, from mountain scenery to open plains and forests. We travel all the way to Axat, where we disembark the train.

• Day 7: Figueres and the Dali Museum

  This small town now attracts visitors from all over the world thanks to its association with the artist Salvador Dali, whose weird and wonderful surrealist works of art can be viewed in the Dali Museum.

  We visit this marvellous museum during our time here to admire the artist’s famous creations.

  Time to bid a fond farewell to Roses today as we make our way to our overnight hotel in the Paris area.
