5 Day Itinerary

• Day 1:

  Local departure by coach, then on to Windermere and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a tea, coffee or mulled wine with a festive treat on arrival to get us into the spirit of the season.

• Day 2: Keswick and Grasmere

  Today we visit the picturesque market town of Keswick. Overlooked by the dramatic Skiddaw range in the north and the expansive Derwentwater in the south the town enjoys an idyllic location in the north of the Lake District. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the town before continuing to the pretty village of Grasmere, known for being the home of William Wordsworth. Explore the village where you can admire the spectacular surrounding fells, visit Wordsworth’s grave, or maybe even buy some of the legendary Grasmere gingerbread. We return back to the hotel in time for our 'Christmas Dinner' complete with a complimentary glass of wine.

• Day 3: Day at leisure or Kendal

  Relax in Windermere, or join our optional excursion to the market town of Kendal, home to the famous mint cake! An historic market town situated in the valley in the banks of the River Kent, Kendal is a lovely town to explore with its pedestrianised centre, unusual network of lanes (or Yards), 13th century castle and surrounding magnificent scenery.

• Day 4: Bowness and cruise to Ambleside

  This morning we will head to nearby Bowness where we will enjoy a cruise along beautiful Lake Windermere to charming Ambleside. Sit back and relax on the cruise, and admire the stunning scenery. At the head of the lake, Ambleside is a predominantly Victorian town, bursting with shops selling a range of arts, crafts, and jewellery, along with a many outdoor shops. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
