ABOUT THE TOUR
The presents are unwrapped and the turkey has been eaten, but that doesn’t mean the festive spirit doesn’t live on! Enjoy the period in between Christmas and New Year, known as Twixmas in clifftop Lynton with its superb views and vibrant Victorian village, connected to its twin village of Lynmouth by a Cliff Railway which is the highest and steepest water powered railway in the world.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach, then on to Lynton and our hotel for three nights.

Day 2: Dunster and Minehead
Today we visit the quaint village of Dunster, set between the foothills of Exmoor National Park and the Somerset coast. It is considered by many as the most intact medieval village in England and is dominated by Dunster Castle. Explore at your leisure, perhap visiting the iconic Yarn Market, the remains of a Benedictine priory, or the working Watermill. We then continue to Minehead, with its pretty harbour and picturesque town centre.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Barnstaple
Relax in Lynton, or join our optional excursion to Barnstaple. As the largest town in North Devon, Barnstaple has a lot to offer. This thriving market town is home to a traditional Pannier Market, which has remained largely unchanged for over 150 years and has a variety of stalls from local produce, to art, crafts, prints, fashion and more – perfect to do a little festive shopping! Stroll through Barnstaple’s partly pedestrianised centre and admire its history and architecture, such as the ornate Queen Anne’s Walk or the 13th century Long Bridge, or why not visit the Museum of North Devon?

You will stay for three nights at the Valley of Rocks Hotel in Lynton.
Stay at the heart of a national nature reserve among the amazing scenery of the North Devon coast with views over the harbour and plenty of cafes and shops to enjoy nearby. Formerly a Bay Hotel, the Valley of the Rocks Hotel is located in the quaint village of Lynton and is a great place to take in some stunning coastal scenery. The hotel is the perfect place to explore Exmoor National Park, a wild landscape of dark moorland. The hotel restaurant serves sumptuous meals for breakfast and in the evening while midday meals are available in the bar area.
